About Fairlea Grange
Fairlea Grange is a historic holiday home in Wales. This imposing Gothic Townhouse located in Abergavenny was once the childhood home of Ethel Lina White, whose book The Wheel Spins was adapted by Alfred Hitchcock into the classic hit movie, The Lady Vanishes. It is now a large holiday house available to rent for celebrations and get-togethers with family or friends.
Fairlea Grange is a 10 bedroom house which comfortably sleeps 12 – 24 people, plus 2 cots for infants. Please bear in mind that Fairlea is an old quirky house with idiosyncratic features, and that's much of it's charm. As a listed building there are severe limitations on what can be done to the property to bring it up to modern standards. You may find creaky floors, squeaky doors and some draughty windows. However If you're looking for a holiday home with character the lounge has a great fireplace, complete with woodburner. The tall, bay windows illuminate the house whilst the staircase is imposing and grand and would make a great photograph!
Bedrooms are large and welcoming, family bathrooms are similarly spacious and there are wonderful views up to the Welsh mountains above the town.
There are a number of ways your large group can relax at the cottage such as a hot tub, games room, and a 6 person sauna. Well behaved dogs and other pets are welcome.
Fairlea Grange can be found just 5 minutes walk away from Abergavenny train station and 10 minutes walk from the centre of this historic market town.
Fairlea Grange is not suitable for stags, or raucous parties.
