Forest House was once the home of industrialist Robert Mushet, the inventor of steel, and more recently has been run with love and care as a 4-star hotel. In July 2021 the ground floor was fully refurbished and redecorated to include a stunning new kitchen.
Right in the centre of the lovely market town of Coleford, you can walk to shops, pubs, restaurants and the Studio Cinema. Yet just five minutes from the door you're off road and into the scenic trails of one of England's oldest forests.

Walk five minutes from the door and you're off road and into the scenic trails of the Forest of Dean, one of England's oldest. Walk or cycle for miles, traffic free, and visit Puzzlewood, The Sculpture Trail, Symonds Yat, and the glorious River Wye.
Keep an eye out for the wildlife - especially the wild boar. Canoe the River Wye, explore Clearwell Caves, or ride the Dean Forest Railway. Back in Coleford, you will find cafes, pubs, restaurants and even a cinema.
